ChristmasShipContinuing on this weekend’s theme of getting odd jobs done, today we decided to take advantage of the exceptionally good weather in the Seattle area. We have had many dry and somewhat warm days in a row. As such, it was a perfect day to put the Christmas lights on the boat. We decorate the boat each holiday season and then participate in one or more of the Christmas Ship parades. The parades are fun and a nice way to use the boat in a time of year when we typically aren’t out on the water. Unfortunately, these events are difficult to plan for as cruising is very weather dependent. While it is possible to go out in the cold, rain and wind, it isn’t any fun. As such, one needs to be flexible. The two Saturdays when the Christmas Ship departs Kirkland look promising. If the fore cast is good for those, that will probably be when we go. However, if the weather continues to be nice, opening night next Friday is also a possibility. No matter which date(s) ends up working, I look forward to the parade.
